Opening Event – MAP Portrait Prize 2026

Your Portrait. Your Moment. Join us for opening night.

Join us at Mudgee Arts Precinct for a night of art, celebration and some of the best our region has to offer as we unveil the MAP Portrait Prize 2026 and announce this year’s prize winners.

Be among the first to see the 2026 finalists and experience an exciting showcase of portraiture by artists from across Australia. Celebrate the artists, discover the stories behind the faces and share in the anticipation as the $10,000 Best Portrait Prize sponsored by Alf Moufarrige AO and $3,000 Best Local Artist Prize sonsored by Mid-Western Regional Council are announced.

And what’s an opening night without something special in your glass?

We’re delighted to have Stein Wines and Small Batch Brewery supporting this year’s opening event, with locally produced wine and beer to enjoy as we raise a glass to the finalists and winners.
